Use the tide
graph's 'Tomorrow' and "Yesterday' buttons to advance or retard
the curve a few days. See how the shape changes at different parts
of the lunar cycle.
To clear
the red lines double click Metres/Feet button
Menu options
allow you to switch to other days in the past or future and to display
tide heights in metres or feet. For times and heights of high and
low water simply place the mouse cursor at peaks or troughs on the
curve and read off the time and height from the table in the bottom
left corner.
You want to
know the height of tide at a particular time?
Place the mouse cursor at the time you need and click the left or
right button. A horizontal red line appears at the corresponding
height and the time and height appear in the bottom left corner
tide table.
Advantages of
tide curves
Tide curves show you how fast the tide is rising or falling. Traditional
tide tables show only the times and heights of high and low water
but give no indication or how long this height is sustained or of
heights at other times. Simple rules for estimating the height at
other times often fail where tide patterns are complex. Tidelets
show the tide heights at all states of the tide - vital information
if you're aground at low water for repairs, crossing a bar, stuck
on a reef. Tidelets can be prepared for single or multiple locations.
WARNING These
Tidal Curves have been tested under Internet Explorer versions 4,
5 & 6. Results with other browsers may be differ. Please report
